Only after adequate accumulation of life history traits of organisms are we able to investigate ecological and evolutionary patterns, and further understand organismal drivers at a broad scale. This will help to further biodiversity protection and knowledge of these species.

Reptile Ecological Database of China was founded in 2020. This database has been releasing ecological data regarding reptiles in China since 2022/01/01. The goal of this database is to promote scientific discussion and research on macroecology, evolution, and diversity conservation of Chinese reptiles. Presently, only lizards are listed (click here for Species Name List). Snakes (soon, actually, in progress) and turtles will be included in the future.

For newly species, ecological information in this website are almost the same with (or even less than) Reptile-database (www.reptile-database.org). These species are mostly only known from their type localities. We will try to make up it.
